Stop Screwing Yourself and Get The Life You Want

Clarity of Purpose

The older I get the more I realize that clarity can sometimes be a difficult thing. Let me preface that by saying, it's not really difficult; it's just that we think we're being clear and sometimes we're not.

I have seen this many times in explaining things to people in my office. I think I know what I told them or asked them to do but that is not what they heard. This is because we all come from different histories, have different styles, and use different words, and things mean different things to different people. This may sound silly, but it is true. Working on clarity and paying attention is important, both from the point of receiving, and giving.

Clarity becomes even more important in setting our goals or developing our life vision. Why? Because when we set goals, when we have a dream or a vision our creative (subconscious) mind is paying attention to our conscious thought, word, and action. It takes its cue for using it's creativity, from conscious thoughts, words, and actions. If we are not clear, if we give our creative mind garbled messages it can only deliver muddled results, and jumbled dreams and goals.

Those of you who have heard me speak about the subconscious mind remember I will often quote the wisdom and humor of Joseph Murphy Ph.D, DD. He said "your subconscious mind cannot take a joke". This means what you think and say is what you get. This is why providing clear succinct instructions are so vital. Those instructions should be posed in a clear, and positive manner, and with as much detail as possible. The more detailed your goals and vision the easier it is for your creative mind to take action, to send you the right information, to give you the right inspiration.

As you think about what you want for your life; focus on clarity, focus on detail, the clearer and more detailed the better.

Remember your creative mind can not take a joke. It believes WHATEVER you tell it.

Get it? Pay attention to your thoughts. It will make a huge difference in your life.
