Stop Screwing Yourself and Get The Life You Want

Limitations

The more I read, do research and workshops, and talk with people (including talking to myself) I realize that most of us are continually limiting ourselves.  I don't know the answer as to why, but I do suspect much of it is due to fear-based beliefs.

As you’ve heard or read, many of those beliefs come from “without” us rather than from “within.” And then we put our own spin on these learned beliefs to make them more personal to us.

Oftentimes the fears are irrational and mythical, meaning they existing solely in our imaginations.  And because the imagination can be so powerful and create images of awful things that could result from taking action, we tend to magnify or “awful-ize” much more than necessary, thus creating limitations for ourselves.

Take some time to think about the ways you awful-ize and limit yourself.

We were born into a country, into a community that is so incredible, and we are so blessed. We need to be thankful and to pay attention to all the goodness and abundance that is available to us. You are meant to live the life you want, and most of us can if we don't limit ourselves.

This week pay attention to the ways in which you limit yourself. Take some notes and make a list. Keep that list close at hand and check it every day to be aware of when you are limiting yourself.  This is the first step to helping you to realize and to begin overcoming your self-limiting behaviors.

Take one, small step every day—and at the end of a month you will be amazed at your progress!

Here is a great quote….

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

“You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.

“We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

“As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
